Torrington, WY (Colyer Funeral Home) February 21st, 2024 — No services will be held for W. JAMES “JIM” HARRIS, 91, who was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 10, 2024, at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland and cremation has taken place. Jim was the beloved husband to Lila Harris, beloved father to two daughters Roberta (Chuck) and Pamela (Mark) as well as the beloved grandpa of four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.

 

Janna Lou Canfield, 70, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Goshen Healthcare Community (Torrington).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Janna’s memory be made to Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter (Torrington).  Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Janna was born February 9, 1954, to John (Jack) and Verna (Haskins) Canfield in Torrington, Wyoming. Janna attended Torrington schools graduating from the high school in 1973. Janna started working as a cook at the Goshen Care Center in 1974 and spent the next twenty-nine years dedicated to residents at the facility. Janna was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Lion’s Club, and the Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Alpha Sorority in Torrington.

Janna was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Verna Canfield and brother Jack D.
She is survived by her sister, Dianne (Canfield) Osback, brother-in-law, Charles (Chuck) Osback, nephew Brady (Dionne) Osback (Indianola, WA), nephew Casey (Tonya) Osback (Torrington, Wyoming) as well as three great nephews, Gunnar, Ayden, and Bryce Osback.

 

A celebration of life for STEVEN “STEVE” RAY BROWN, 72, will be held 2pm Saturday April 20, 2024, at the Lingle Community Center. Steve passed away peacefully at home February 18, 2024, and cremation has taken place. Memorials can be made to the family at P.O Box 237 Lingle, Wyoming. Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.

Steve was born September 3, 1951, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to “Bud” and Betty Brown. Steve grew up in Lingle and graduated from the Lingle High School in 1969. Steve married Teri Hileman and to this union they had two boys Dean and Allen. They later divorced. He joined the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department in 1972, and dedicated 22 plus years serving as many roles during his time. He was the Vice President of the fire department in 1977 and 1992. In 1979 he served as the Fire Chief and was the assistant Fire Chief from 1981 to 1983. He was also active on the Fire Department Convention Team. Steve married the love of his life Janice King September 13, 1998, and the couple shared 25 years of love. Together they enjoyed fishing. Steve also loved to hunt and well as spend time with family for holiday dinners.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Lingle, two sons: Dean Brown of Tampa, Florida and Allen Brown of Ogden, Utah. Stepdaughter Jennifer (Marshall) Davis of Cheyenne. Three grandchildren: Logan, Hayden and Paige. Two brothers; Roger (Tamera) Brown of Lingle and Tracy (Colleen) Brown of Jefferson, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Betty.
