Torrington, WY (Colyer Funeral Home) November 1, 2023 — Jack Sedman, 93, passed away on October 30th at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington. 

Memorial services will be held at 2pm Friday, November 10th, at the United Presbyterian Church in Torrington with Dereck Jackson officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Southeast Wyoming Art Association or First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church. 

Jack was born December 19, 1929, in Columbus, Nebraska the son of Colin and Ruth (Brock) Sedman. He held offices in the church, was on the Soil Conservation Board and the Stock Feeders Association Board, he supported the 4-H program and belonged to the Goshen County Stockgrowers Association. Most of Jack’s elementary education was in Hastings, Nebraska. He attended there until the family moved to Huntley, Wyoming when he was a Junior in High School. He was a gymnast and performed at different ball games. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1948. Jack and Gertrude “Gertie” Kimzey were married in the Presbyterian Church in Torrington on October 14, 1950. They raised four children. Jack became a pilot in 1980 and they enjoyed many trips in his small Cessna airplane. Jack loved his family, his art, hunting and fishing. In 2002, Jack and Gertie moved to Torrington after farming for 52 years.

Jack is survived by his wife, Gertie; his son Bruce (Jane) Sedman; three daughters, Susan (Wylie) McGuire, Judy (Bob) Daily, Ginger (Dave) Hansen; 14 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and his sister Joyce Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister June and brother-in-law John Bengston and brother-in-law Gene Kennedy.
