Casper, WY (RELEASE) February 6th, 2024 — Governor Mark Gordon will host the latest in a series of Town Hall meetings addressing mental health care in Casper on February 13.
The discussion is open to the public and will take place from 1:30 to 3 pm at Casper College Wheeler Music Hall. The Town Hall is an opportunity to hear from local communities firsthand about efforts underway to increase awareness of available resources and improve access to mental health care. Representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches are invited to attend, as well as local elected officials.
“The community engagement we have seen from these Town Halls has led us to identify our priorities and our most significant challenges,” Governor Gordon said. “I look forward to discussing the work we are doing and hearing the thoughts and experiences directly from Casper residents.”
Governor Gordon is prioritizing improving access to mental health resources. Last week he announced the launch of an initiative to address Wyoming’s ongoing mental health crisis. The Governor’s “Mental Health Roadmap” takes steps to advancing systemic behavioral health reform in Wyoming, identifying five pillars that are critical to improving outcomes for those who are battling mental health issues. The Governor will outline the roadmap during the Town Hall.
