Lusk Tigers Earn Bid to State Basketball Tournament, Lady Tigers Fall Short

Burns, WY February 25th, 2024 — The Lusk Tigers will be heading to Casper for the State Basketball tournament for the first time since 2015. The Tigers defeated the Pine Bluffs Hornets on Saturday at the 2A East Regional Boys Basketball Tournament to earn the 3 seed for the State Tournament.

The Lady Tigers opened the Tournament with a 70-26 loss to the #1 ranked Tongue River Lady Eagles.

The season then came to an end for Lusk with a 60-39 loss to Big Horn on Friday.

The Lusk Boys had a tough matchup with Wright to start the 2A East Boys Tournament. The Panthers defeated the Tigers 63-50.

The Tigers then had to battle their way back through the losers bracket, and defeated Lingle-Ft. Laramie on Friday with a 42-41 win.

Lusk punched their ticket to State on Saturday morning with a win over Big Horn, 48-45.
