School Talk: Prom Donations, Kindergarten Registration, Vape Detectors

Torrington, WY March 14th, 2024 — On School Talk with Goshen County School District Superintendent Ryan Kramer, Kramer said that Goshen County High Schools are still seeking prom dress and tuxedo donations for the upcoming prom festivities.

“Prom dress and tuxedo donations are still needed,” said Kramer. “Dresses, tuxedos, shoes, belts, jewelry, etc. are all accepted and welcome. Please contact Ms. Racine at Torrington High School for drop off information. You can call the school at (307) 532-7101. The prom dresses and tuxedos are available for free for students to use at the upcoming prom festivities. If your student is interested in seeing available tuxes and dresses they can also contact Ms. Racine.”

Mr. Kramer also talked about Kindergarten Preregistration.

“Kindergarten Preregistration at Lincoln Elementary School will be from March 18th through April 5th from 7:00AM – 4:00PM,” said Kramer. “Registration is available in person and online. Children must be 5 years old on or before August 1st, 2024 to be admitted to kindergarten, however, if your child will turn 5 between August 2nd and September 15th, please refer to district policy 5101 for options. Please provide a copy of the students birth certificate and shot records. This can be done by emailing [email protected], dropping them off in person, or call (307) 532-4003 for more information.”

The Goshen County School Board recently met for a regular board meeting this month. Mr. Kramer said that the School Board accepted a grant from the Community Healthcare Foundation in the amount of $26,808 for the purchase of vape detectors at TMS, THS and PRS.
