Torrington, WY September 7th, 2023 — Today marks 30 years since the death of LT Harley Mark, who gave his life in the line of duty on September 7th, 1993. LT Mark was fatally wounded in a motor vehicle accident while trying to apprehend a violent criminal in Torrington.

The Torrington Police Department took a moment to recognize LT Mark during this week’s Torrington City Council Meeting in front of the Mark family.

“He selflessly placed the safety of others above his own, and we will never forget his sacrifice or that of his family,” said Chief Matt Johnson.

“Lieutenant Mark was a man who didn’t think less of himself, but instead, he thought more of others. He was deeply committed to serving our community, building relationship, and loving his family. We are all grateful recipients of the investments that he made.”
