Torrington, WY (by Shad Bates) April 23rd, 2024 — The Torrington Trailblazers hosted Cheyenne South JV at Jirdon Field on Monday afternoon and came away with 2 wins.

The Trailblazers defeated the Bison 8-2 in game 1.  The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to 3 Bison errors.  The Bison cut the lead to 3-2 heading to the bottom of the 4th inning where the Blazers hit 4 singles and scored 5 runs.

Game 2 at Jirdon was much of the same as Torrington jumped out to an early 4 run lead.  The Bison bats got hot as they scored on 2 hits and a walk.  The Trailblazers were able to add a run to secure a 5-4 victory.

Kennedy Reinhardt had 17 strikeouts on the day, 12 in game 1 and 5 in game 2.  The Trailblazers are now 6-5-1 on their rookie season and will be back on the diamond May 6th as they travel to Wheatland.
