La Grange, WY (Colyer Funeral Home) November 14, 2023 — No services are planned for LINDA LOUISE KESSLER who passed away at her home October 16, 2023.

She was born June 5, 1949 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Raymond and Alvina (Swindt) Murphy. The family moved from Denver to Cheyenne, Wyoming where Linda attended local schools, graduating from Central High School in 1967.

Linda and Ellis N. Kessler married on September 25, 1971. Ellis’s family had come from Iowa in
1885 and homesteaded in Wyoming what would be known as the “Kessler Ranch” or the Double
“Y” on Bear Creek near LaGrange, Wyoming. The couple ran their cattle ranch until Ellis’
passing in 2001. Linda continued to manage the ranch. She served on the Goshen County School
Board from 1986 to 2017. She was named to the State Rehabilitation Division of Vocational
Rehab in 2006. She also served on the Goshen County Tourism Board from 1991 to 2001. Linda
spent over 20 years with the LaGrange Volunteer Fire Department and then became an EMT in
2014. She was for many years Secretary of the LaGrange Cemetery Association.

Linda was a humble person, who did not seek recognition for what she accomplished or what she
did for her community. She was a person of great kindness, with a love of animals and a huge
heart she never stopped giving to those in need.
