Friday Night Lights: Goshen County Bowl, Blazers Look to Start Win Streak, Pine Bluffs and Lusk In Playoff Picture

Torrington, WY October 6, 2023 — With three weeks left in the regular season, all three Goshen County Schools are in the playoff picture.

#5 Southeast Cyclones vs. #4 Lingle-Ft. Laramie Doggers

Both Southeast and Lingle are coming off of road wins last week. #5 Southeast handled Guernsey last Friday 40 – 12. The Cyclones improved to 4-1 overall with a 3-1 conference record.

The #4 Doggers are still undefeated. They took care of the Wolves in Moorcroft 35-26 last week, improving to 5-0 overall with a 4-0 conference record.

Tonight the Cyclones travel to Lingle for the Goshen County Bowl with big playoff implications. The Cyclones look to leapfrog the Doggers in the 1A East 9-man Standings with a win, and the Doggers look to keep their spot at the top – tied with Pine Bluffs.

Torrington Trailblazers vs. Glenrock Herders

The Trailblazers proved they’re a playoff-caliber team last Friday. Torrington gave the Tongue River Eagles their first loss of the season at Wiseman field 21-7. The Blazers improved to 3-3 overall with a 3-1 conference record, good enough for 2nd place in the 2A East Conference Standings.

The Trailblazers are looking to start a win streak tonight as they’ll travel to Glenrock to take on the 0-5 Herders.

Lusk Tigers vs. Moorcroft Wolves

The Lusk Tigers are coming off a tough home loss to the Pine Bluffs Hornets last week. After jumping out to a 21-0 lead at halftime, the Hornets held on in Lusk for the 21-14 win.

The Tigers will try to get right tonight and keep their playoff hopes alive vs. the 1-4 Moorcroft Wolves.

#1 Pine Bluffs Hornets vs. Saratoga Panthers

The Hornets got a win a day early this week with a Thursday road game vs. Saratoga. Pine Bluffs stays undefeated and takes down the Panthers 33-6.
