Torrington Police Department Responds to Bomb Threat at Torrington Airport

Torrington, WY December 19th, 2023 — The Torrington Police Department investigated a bomb threat at the Torrington Airport late this morning.

According to a Facebook post by TPD, at approximately 11:45 this morning, the Torrington Police Department responded to the City of Torrington Airport, located at 2000 East 20th Avenue, to investigate a reported bomb threat at the facility.

The airport was evacuated and secured for a short period of time while officers investigated the threat. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that similar threats had been received across the state of Wyoming, and nationally. As part of the investigation, officers searched the airport grounds. Nothing suspicious or related to the reported threat was found and the airport was returned to normal operation.

Because this crime was perpetrated on a national scale, Torrington Police Department will collaborate with Federal Law Enforcement for the conclusion of the investigation.
