Lancer Rodeo Entering Home Stretch of 2024 Season

Torrington, WY (by Kyler Clark) April 9th, 2024 — The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Rodeo team has completed 3 out of 5 of their spring rodeos. They have traveled to Gillette, hosted a home rodeo, and traveled to Loveland, CO.

Gillette March 15-17
The Lancers had 8 short round qualifiers at the opening spring rodeo – 6 on the men’s side and 2 on the women’s.

Men’s Team: Bridger Amiotte won the first round of the steer wrestling with a 4.2, and finished 6th in the average. In team roping, Weston Klatt and Sam Andrews made it to Sunday’s championship round with an 8.2, and had no luck in the short round. Carter Anderson and Seth Glass were 7.6 and 7.7 on their two steers respectively to win 4th in the average at Gillette. In tie down roping, Colton Zimmerman was 12.3 in the long round and 9.9 in the short round to win 2nd place in the average.

Women’s Team: In Goat Tying, RaeLee Caldwell turned in times of 7.8 and 10.1 to win 5th in the average, and her teammate Isabelle Camino was 8.5 and 9.5 on her two goats to win 6th in the Average

Torrington March 22-24
The Lancers had 2 short round qualifiers at the home rodeo in Torrington.

Men’s Team: In tie down roping Kyler Clark was tied for 3rd in the long round with a 9.6. On Sunday’s championship round Kyler was 11.5 to secure a 5th place finish with a 21.1 on two.

Women’s Team: RaeLee Caldwell was 7.7 on her first goat and 7.1 on her second to finish with a time of 14.8 on two for 4th in the average

Loveland April 5-7
The Lancers had 6 short round qualifiers at Colorado States Skyline Stampede in Loveland.

Men’s Team: A pair of Lancers, Bridger Amiotte and Dalton Moore, tied for 5th in the long round with a 7.7. Lancer Kyler Clark and his partner Colter Nunn(UW) were 7th in the long round with a 8.2 and 1st in the short round with a 7.9 for a 16.1 on two steers and that was enough to be the champions of the rodeo. Seth Glass and Cooper Phillips both qualified for the short round in the tie down roping. Phillips was 3rd in the average and Glass placed as well.

Women’s Team: RaeLee Caldwell was 13.8 on two goats to win 3rd place.

The Lancers have five athletes in the top 10 of the regional standings.

Barrel Racing: 3rd Camryn Kocian 365 points
Team Roping- Heading: 10th Carter Anderson 245 points
Team Roping- Heeling: 9th Kyler Clark 215 points
Tie Down Roping: 10th Colton Zimmerman 170 points

The University of Wyoming Cowboys lead the men’s team standing and the University of Gillette Lady Pronghorns lead the women’s team standings.

The Lancers will travel to Casper April 12-14 and Laramie April 19-21.
