Torrington, WY (RELEASE) February 5th, 2024 — Eastern Wyoming College’s Nursing Program has been named one of the top nursing programs in the state of Wyoming for NCLEX pass rates, according to the National Council for State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) exam report. Other state colleges to earn this honor include Central Wyoming College, and the University of Wyoming.

“One hundred percent of our graduates last year passed the NCLEX and 100% were employed. Thereby meaning, for the year 2023, we had a 100% NCLEX pass rate,” EWC Director of Nursing Dr. Monica Teichert said.

The Eastern Wyoming College’s associate degree in nursing program at the Torrington and Douglas campus has also received continued accreditation in accordance with ACEN records, by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

“This is a huge achievement as ACEN is one of the largest specialized accrediting agencies, accrediting nursing programs throughout the United States, its territories, and internationally,” Dr. Teichert said. “We were granted continuing accreditation until 2031 and were found to not have any areas of non-compliance.”

ACEN accreditation tells the public and to the educational community that a nursing program has clear and appropriate educational objectives and is working to achieve these objectives, according to the ACEN website (https://www.acenursing.org/accreditation/why-acen-accreditation). By meeting the ACEN Standards and Criteria for accreditation, ACEN-accredited programs demonstrate that their graduates are prepared to enter the workforce and contribute to positive outcomes in public health.

“EWC is proud of the staff in the Nursing and Healthcare programs that are dedicated to excellence in their teaching and the success of their students,” EWC President Jeffry Hawes said.

Eastern Wyoming College is presently accepting applications for their fall 2024 cohort on the Douglas campus. For more information, contact Blanca Jaime at 307-624-7012 or [email protected], [email protected].
